Generator Field Technician / Mechanic

EPG Field Technician

The EPG Field Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing power generation related systems, generators, engines, transfer switches, UPS and switchgear systems. Additional responsibilities include fuel polishing and load bank testing systems as needed.

• Handle fuel polishing and load bank testing systems as needed at the customer’s worksite to provide an excellent customer experience.
• Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance on power generation assemblies, diagnose and troubleshoot problems, make recommendations for repairs, and perform all critical repairs and adjustments.
• Must be willing to work overtime as required by fluctuating workloads and available for after-hours calls as needed.
• Conduct generator pre-start and start-ups in accordance with the manufacturer checklist.
• Use resistive load bank equipment for testing and repair of generators.
• Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.

Physical & Working Requirements

• Safely and repeatedly lift components weighing up to 115 pounds without assistance.
• Safely lift, carry, and lower components weighing up to 65 pounds without assistance.
• Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy materials.
• Climb on and off equipment and work at varying heights.
• Stand, bend, and work in physically demanding positions for extended periods.
• Safely operate tools and equipment.

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience working within the diesel mechanics industry (specifically with power generation equipment).
• A stable work history.
• Class A CDL or Class B CDL.
• Ability to foster positive relationships internally and externally.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of power generator applications and repairs.
• General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments.
• Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins, schematics, line diagrams and other related publications.
• Class A CDL or Class B required or ability to obtain CDL.

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass a drug test.
• Must be able to pass a background check.

Skills

• Power generation applications and repairs.
• Basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments.
