Generator Auxiliaries Engineer

As a Generator Auxiliaries Engineer, you'll play a critical role in keeping some of the world's most advanced power generation technologies running reliably and efficiently. In this dynamic position, you'll lead the mechanical analysis and design of generator components, driving solutions that support customer orders, field service initiatives, and long-term product performance. You'll help deliver innovative solutions that enhance generator reliability and support the global energy transition while working within the Generator Service Engineering team and collaborating across the broader Generator Engineering organization.

Responsibilities

• Support service solution development, product improvements, and technology strategy for global generator auxiliaries while mentoring engineers and promoting engineering best practices.
• Drive resolution of operational and fleet issues by developing innovative package fluid system designs, service products, and optimized service procedures.
• Support global hardware design harmonization and modernization initiatives, partnering with engineering, vendors, field service, and customers to execute upgrades and improvements.
• Provide technical expertise in package fluid systems, participate in steering groups, and share knowledge through collaborative forums and cross-functional decision-making.
• Collaborate on Technical Inquiries (TIs) and Significant Fleet Issues (SFIs), applying advanced troubleshooting methodologies and coaching teams on effective problem resolution.
• Develop and release engineering documentation including P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and layouts, while performing system calculations for fluid flow, heat transfer, auxiliary electrical loads, and equipment weights.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
• 8-10 years of experience in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and materials engineering.
• Experience managing cost, schedule, and quality requirements for engineering projects.
• Working knowledge of applicable U.S. and European engineering codes and standards.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing junior engineers.
• Ability and willingness to travel 10-15% domestically and internationally.
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
