Team Overview
The Edward Jones Generations™ team delivers an end-to-end, high-net-worth (HNW) client experience by collaborating with branch teams. Services include holistic financial planning, tax and estate planning via trusted third parties, plan implementation through Edward Jones products, and ongoing reporting and support. We seek strategic thinkers and collaborators with a strong background in complex financial planning and a commitment to client-first values.
Responsibilities
- Lead Generations functions across domains (financial planning, portfolio management, tax and estate planning, specialized planning, and advice), setting priorities and driving functional buildouts for capacity, processes, value delivery, and performance quality.
- Oversee calibration of Generations engagement models, including intake criteria, complexity thresholds, and service tiers across domains.
- Ensure guidance and recommendations align with current regulatory, suitability, and market requirements.
- Establish and govern quality review routines to evaluate recommendation consistency, technical accuracy, and client outcome alignment.
- Drive cross-functional alignment with financial planning, product, advisory, and compliance teams to improve accessibility and integration of specialist support.
- Implement reporting frameworks for visibility into utilization, case complexity, turnaround times, and quality outcomes.
- Identify and prioritize process improvements to enhance workflow efficiency, expertise readiness, and advisor experience.
- Allocate resources across teams to optimize capacity, particularly for high-complexity or high-risk cases.
- Champion development of domain expertise and capability readiness, including training, tools, and guidance updates.
- Partner with product, investment, and business leaders to translate strategic initiatives into actionable programs, equipping client-facing teams with knowledge, tools, and resources.
- Execute go-to-market strategies for new products, services, and wealth management solutions, driving awareness, education, and adoption among advisors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Certified Financial Planning (CFP) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation required.
- Active Series 7, 66, and 24 licenses required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum of 11–14 years of industry experience.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
- State Life and Health Insurance license preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Experience working with high-net-worth clients and financial advisors.
- People leadership, strategic planning, and business plan execution experience.
- Advanced technical aptitude, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Deep subject matter expertise in advanced financial planning or investment management strategies.
- Advanced skills in systems thinking, planning and organizing, relationship building, collaboration, critical thinking, and project management.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to branch teams and clients.
- Experience making decisions spanning cross-functional areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree.
- Experience leading high-performing teams in fast-paced environments.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and building/operationalizing strategic capabilities at scale.
Candidates within a commutable distance of Tempe, AZ, or St. Louis, MO, are expected to work in the office four days per week.
