GENERAL X-RAY MACHINE OPERATOR
About the role
The department provides diagnostic x-ray imaging services within the health care facility to patients in need. The GXMO colleague performs radiologic imaging procedures; operates x-ray equipment, positions patients, performs and documents patient assessment as relates to the imaging encounter. The GXMO exports images to PACS, accesses and utilizes the HIS as needed, prepares the exam room, equipment and supplies.
Qualifications
- Ohio GXMO certification
- BLS certification
- Minimum high school diploma
- Experience preferred

- Comfortable speaking to large groups and presenting
- Detail oriented
- Communicate effectively
- Adaptability to changing work environment or needs
- Computer, keyboard skills preferred
- Use of proper body mechanics while caring for patients
Responsibilities & Expectations
- Identify each patient and review physician orders for accuracy
- Properly position patients for high image quality
- Medical record documentation in HIS and RIS or systems required per department
- Review each examination for quality
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and stock supplies
- Communicate pertinent information to supervisor or responsible individual
- Explain exams/procedures to patients and address any questions or concerns
- Adhere to Aultman policies and procedures
- No direct reports for this position
- Complete and adhere to knowledge gained through annual employee education
- Ability to meet and interact with the public in a mature, courteous, and professional manner
- Ability to operate equipment within the department
- Maintain Aultman attendance standards

Schedule
Hours may vary as required by job. Weekends and holidays per facility need. Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day. Sitting, standing, moving during work hours. Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate coverage. Cross training in areas of the department as required. Colleagues may be assigned to different locations within the foundation. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
