General Warehouse Manager-Days

Location: 31300 Medallion Dr., Hayward, CA 94544 — this is a daily onsite role.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, normal business hours through Thursday
- Start time approximately 10 AM until completion of shift
- Schedule subject to change based on business needs
Pay
- $100,000–$110,000 base salary, depending on experience
- Plus bonus potential based on KPIs (up to 20% of base annually)
About the Role
As the General Warehouse Manager, you will oversee the warehouse management team to ensure the safety, productivity, and efficiency of warehouse operations. You will lead employees and managers, monitor operational flow, and drive the effective use of people and equipment on a daily and nightly basis. A successful candidate will coordinate processes within the warehouse and directly impact operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the efficient operations of the warehouse; communicate daily with employees on company information and team encouragement
- Collaborate in developing, implementing, and monitoring standard operating procedures for warehousing and transportation
- Ensure equipment is in proper working condition and arrange service actions when needed
- Observe warehouse employee productivity and quality, developing action plans to support and improve performance
- Evaluate warehouse activities, projected volumes, customer base, and product mixes to determine personnel and equipment needs
- Lead safety policies and practices within the warehouse
- Provide instruction, discipline, coaching, mentoring, and motivation to maintain morale and encourage teamwork, pride, and quality performance
- Handle employee concerns, ensuring consistent practices are followed
- Monitor warehouse security
- Review operational flows through shifts and communicate with supervisors to gauge progress
- Monitor supplies throughout shifts and direct replenishment efforts as needed
- Perform periodic inventory counts and ensure inventory system accuracy and integrity
- Implement procedures to handle customer and vendor requests
- Collaborate in the implementation of warehouse and transportation employee training programs
- Participate in the selection and hiring of warehouse position candidates
- Manage warehouse employee activities and evaluate performance
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4+ years of warehouse management experience
- 3–5 years in a leadership role for a team of 50+ direct and indirect reports
- Proficient knowledge of warehouse management systems, email systems, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of warehouse operations and distribution
- Experience in forecasting and project management
- General mechanical and mathematical skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and disseminate information across the warehouse
- Ability to analyze data, review operational information, and make suggested changes to improve performance
- Physical ability to handle objects, tools, and/or controls
- Physical ability to navigate the warehouse environment, including occasional bending, kneeling, or reaching
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying noise levels and potential temperature extremes
