General Surgeon - Per Diem

Job Description

Pacific Health is seeking a Relief/Per Diem General Surgeon to join their team in Ketchikan, Alaska.

Works collaboratively with all other healthcare team members toward the best outcomes for the patient and the organization. Provides professional services to the hospital and its patients.

Responsibilities

• Practices medicine within the scope of license, training and credentialing.
• Practices medicine in accordance with the current standards of care as well as the quality criteria adopted by the clinic.
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates individual patient care appropriate to the age of patients served by demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Accredited School of Medicine
• Completion of Internship/Residency Program in area of specialty.
• Required: Licensed to practice as a physician in the State, and board certified or board eligible.
• Required: Drug Enforcement Administration Federal Number.
• Required: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Skills.
• Maintains current knowledge and skills with continuing education.
• Must meet all training requirements for specific department.
• Able to work varied hours; rigorous on-call and call-back schedule.
• Must not be a practitioner excluded from participation in the Medicare or Medicaid program.

Qualifications

• Education: Accredited School of Medicine

• Credentials: Required: Licensed to practice as a physician in the State, and board certified or board eligible.

Demonstrated expertise in clinical management of patients.

Pay

Relief Hourly Rate: $325.00/hr

Schedule

Roughly 10 days/month 24-hour call for ED and Inpatients and any urgent surgeries.
