General Surgeon - Locum Coverage

About the role

We are seeking a locum tenens MD to provide 24-hour call coverage in an inpatient and operating room setting. The position involves delivering general surgery services, managing emergency consultations, and performing procedures for patients of all ages. You will support a busy 263-bed acute care hospital with a diverse caseload of 8–20 patients per shift, assisted by one Advanced Practice Provider (APP).

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous availability for scheduled and emergency surgeries
• Provide general surgery services and manage emergency consultations
• Perform surgical procedures across all age groups
• Exercise prescriptive authority as required
• Manage inpatient cases and support surgical operations in a dynamic hospital environment

Requirements

• Board certification in General Surgery (flexible qualifications considered)
• On-site presence required
• Prescriptive authority
