General Surgeon

Part-time General Surgeon position in Richmond, VA with National Wound Physician Group.

This position offers clinical satisfaction, autonomy, and flexibility with an emphasis on work-life balance. There are no night shifts, no on-call responsibilities, and no weekend clinical duties.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Become an expert in wound management, learning from highly qualified wound-certified physician trainers and Fellowship Directors.
• Utilize cutting-edge clinical technologies and the latest wound care modalities.
• Provide bedside wound care in post-acute care settings: Skilled Nursing Facilities and Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals.
• Conduct weekly wound rounds at each facility.
• Visit 2–3 facilities per day, treating approximately 20–30 patients per day.
• Complete clinical documentation at point of care in real-time during rounds using a proprietary wound-specific EMR.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted medical license (MD/DO) in the state you wish to practice.
• Minimum commitment of 3 weekdays per week.

Practice Overview

• Full-time schedule: Monday–Friday, 7 am–4 pm (4–5 days per week); part-time available (minimum 3 days per week).
• No call, no weekend clinical responsibilities.
• Mobile practice: physicians visit facilities within a 40–60 mile radius of the practice location.
• Paid training provided during onboarding plus a 6-month wound care fellowship.
• W2 employment contract (no work visa sponsorship available).
