General Surgeon

About the role

Part-time general surgeon position based in Charlottesville, VA, with a national wound physician group offering clinical satisfaction, autonomy, flexibility, and work-life balance with no nights, no call, and no weekend clinical responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside wound management in the post-acute care setting, including Skilled Nursing Facilities and Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals
• Conduct weekly wound rounds at each assigned facility
• Visit 2–3 facilities per day, treating approximately 20–30 patients per day
• Perform clinical documentation at point of care in real-time during clinical rounds using proprietary wound-specific EMR

Requirements

• Active unrestricted medical license (MD/DO) in Virginia
• Minimum commitment of 3 weekdays per week
• W2 employment contract (no work visa sponsorship available)

Qualifications

• Become an expert in wound management through training from highly qualified wound certified physician trainers and Fellowship Directors
• Utilize cutting-edge clinical technologies and the latest wound care modalities

Training

• Paid training provided during onboarding plus a 6-month wound care fellowship
• Physician-level wound management training and fellowship for clinical excellence

Practice details

• Part-time role: minimum 3 days per week
• Full-time role (reference): 4–5 days per week, Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm, with a 45-hour work week
• Mobile practice: physicians visit facilities within a 40–60 mile radius of practice location
• No call and no weekend clinical responsibilities

Pay

• W2 full-time physicians earn on average $300,000 per year plus benefits
