About the role
This position involves performing in-depth research and causative analysis on inventory discrepancies, initiating corrective actions, and developing new procedures to improve inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Plans, develops schedules for and conducts inventories.
- Conducts investigations and analysis to determine causes of inventory discrepancies.
- Provides recommendations which correct or prevent errors.
- Gathers data from automated systems to analyze trends of recurring discrepancies.
- Conducts operational and systemic studies to causes contributing to physical inventory and location inaccuracies.
- Identifies and initiates new procedures to reduce inventory record error rate, streamline inventory processes, and comply with agency guidance.
- Arranges special inventories to reconcile accountable records.
- Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts and stock selectors to locate and move materials.
- Led lower graded technicians performing inventory functions.
Requirements
- Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, typically in or related to the position to be filled.
- Education: To qualify at the GS-09 level based on education in lieu of specialized experience, applicants must possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LLB/J.D., if related.
- Combination: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the GS-09 grade level, and may be computed by first determining the applicant's total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determining the applicant's education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level; and then adding the two percentages. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level.
Qualifications
