General Superintendent Structural Steel

About the role

As a General Superintendent, you will oversee and manage on-site construction projects from start to finish. You will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Safety is the top priority, and you will enforce all safety precautions on-site, including holding weekly site safety meetings and promoting a culture of safety among the team. You will coordinate weekly look-ahead schedules to anticipate potential issues or delays and attend on-site project meetings focused on safety, quality, scheduling, and production.

Responsibilities

• Read specifications and blueprints to determine locations, quantities, and sizes of materials needed for the project
• Coordinate with other trades and schedule material deliveries to the job site
• Address non-conformances and issue corrective actions as needed
• Troubleshoot any issues that arise on-site
• Submit Requests for Information (RFIs) and complete as-built drawings

Experience

• Fluency in English, both spoken and written
• Proficiency in using tools and equipment, including transit, laser level, and torpedo levels
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to convey information, delegate tasks, and address concerns
• Solid understanding of commercial construction and steel erection
