About the role
We are seeking a Construction Manager/Superintendent to lead project construction activities and oversee total site management. This key project leader for Clayco’s Field Operations team will manage projects ranging from 100MM to 500MM and will be based in the Life Sciences / Pharmaceuticals division.
Responsibilities
- Organize and direct all on-site construction related activities and serve as the primary contact for all project field activities.
- Ensure construction operations comply with design, specifications, and are completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Manage site operations including construction subcontractors, professional staff, and workforce services.
- Maintain detailed daily reports and develop project automation, environmental compliance, safety, site survey, non-manual staffing, contracting, labor strategy, and construction execution plans.
- Implement Clayco’s safety program, security, housekeeping, and fire protection on the construction site.
- Establish and implement construction schedules, methods, manning charts, material, and equipment requirements.
- Analyze project performance for adherence to quality standards and schedules.
- Plan and establish procedures to ensure construction operations meet engineering designs and specifications.
- Develop and administer a job-site security plan and coordinate with Clayco’s security department.
- Participate in contracts and subcontracts negotiations, and develop and implement a training program for subordinate personnel.
- Ensure compliance with local codes and jurisdictional requirements, and implement a community relations plan.
- Ensure required permits and licenses are in place prior to the start of affected work at the site.
- Follow guidelines of the Project Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, related technical degree, or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
- 20-25 years of relevant experience, with progressive responsibility and technical knowledge covering the scope and value of projects.
- Technical knowledge and experience of relevant construction methods and systems, including utility relocates and slope stability works, high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage systems, BMS and EPMS Systems, and LOTO procedures and FOD inspections.
- Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements.
- Experience with successful interface management on Data Center/Mission Critical projects.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi-floor scaffolding.
- Ability to lift objects weighing at least 50 lbs.
