General Superintendent

About the role

LF Driscoll, part of STO Building Group, is looking for an experienced General Superintendent to support our commercial construction projects. The General Superintendent is responsible for the timely and cost-effective field coordination, quality control and day-to-day supervision of subcontracted work forces for construction projects. Founded over nine decades ago, LF Driscoll manages construction projects in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, delivering projects ranging from $50,000 to over $1.5 billion under various contract methods including CM at Risk, CM Agency, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), and Design/Build for new core/shell, renovations/additions, interior fit-outs, and infrastructure construction.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the project schedule, maintains reports accurately describing project status
• Responsible for the timely and cost-effective field coordination, quality control and day-to-day supervision of subcontracted work forces for construction projects
• Reviews status and project progress with the Project Manager and client representatives on a regular basis
• Large projects include multiple Superintendents
• Ensures safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craftsmen and others when operating tools and equipment
• Analyzes manpower, material, equipment requirements, and interfaces the requirements with others as designated by supervising superintendent
• Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction Management
• Ensures safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craftsmen and others when in the operational area, tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely

Qualifications

• 15+ years of field experience in commercial projects
• Commercial construction experience is preferred
• Experience should include some supervisory responsibility as a General Foreman, Field Engineer or Assistant Superintendent
• Well developed communications, interpersonal, organizational and teamwork skills are required

Pay

In addition to base pay, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.
