About the role

Hays Electrical Services provides excellent service to customers in industries hospitality, commercial and solar. The Electrical General Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of electrical construction projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily activities on electrical construction projects, ensuring that all electrical work is completed according to project specifications, within established timelines, and in compliance with local codes and safety standards
• Lead and manage electrical crews, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring that all team members follow safety protocols and work efficiently
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in coordination with project managers, ensuring that work is completed on time and in alignment with the overall project plan
• Monitor the quality of work performed, ensuring it meets company standards, industry regulations, and client expectations
• Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with OSHA guidelines and company safety policies
• Ensure that all necessary materials, tools, and equipment are available and properly maintained on the job site
• Monitor project costs to ensure that the electrical work stays within the budget
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, project managers, and other stakeholders on the job site
• Identify and resolve any issues or obstacles that arise on the job site
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work performed, materials used, manpower hours, and any issues encountered
• Ensure that all electrical work is completed according to project specifications and that the job is ready for final inspection

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• An associate’s degree or certification in construction management or electrical technology is preferred
• 5+ years of experience as a superintendent, foreman, or similar role in electrical contracting, with experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial projects
• Relevant certifications, such as OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR, and Electrical Journeyman/Master Electrician credentials (preferred)

Skills

• Solid knowledge of construction project management, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of subcontractors
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and building codes
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
• Proficient in project management software and construction management tools (e.g., Procore, Builderstrend, MS Project)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and electrical schematics
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to handle on-site issues efficiently and effectively
