General Superintendent
Job Summary
As General Superintendent, you'll lead the field execution of some of the nation's most complex marine and heavy civil construction projects. Working in partnership with Project Managers and company leadership, you'll be trusted to lead field operations, develop high-performing teams, and drive project success from planning through completion.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or another related engineering or construction discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant heavy civil construction experience.
- 8+ years of progressively responsible experience leading field operations on heavy civil, marine, structural, industrial, or transportation construction projects.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to lead teams, resolve complex field challenges, and drive project success.
- Proven experience leading field teams while promoting a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Experience collaborating with Project Managers, Project Engineers, owners, engineering consultants, municipalities, DOTs, USACE, ports, utilities, or industrial clients.
- Ability to lead multiple priorities, solve complex field challenges, make sound decisions, and drive successful project outcomes in a fast-paced construction environment.
Skills
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to lead teams, resolve complex field challenges, and drive project success.
- Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction means and methods, construction sequencing, production planning, and self-perform operations.
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects, resources, and competing demands.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate risk and make sound operational decisions.
- Ability to mentor, develop, and lead high-performing field teams while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Physical Demands/Working Environment
- The ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
- Working outdoors in various temperatures and conditions for long periods of time.
- Wearing various PPE (respirators, fall protection, etc.).
- Traveling on various land, water, and aircraft.
- Lifting, climbing, pulling, pushing, squatting for various periods of time.
- Climbing ladders, working at heights, walking and standing on uneven surfaces, riding, or working from a barge, pier, vessel, etc.
- Able to sit, stand, kneel, squat, push, pull, etc. for varying amounts of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.
- May have prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Salary Range
$150K - $200K per year Pay Is Commensurate With Experience And Qualifications
