General Superintendent

About the Role

As a General Superintendent, you will plan, direct, coordinate, and supervise personnel and activities related to the installation and maintenance of electrical systems and components across multiple projects. You will collaborate with Project Managers, Field Operation Managers, Safety, BIM, Pre-Fabrication, and QA/QC departments to ensure Adams Electric standards and processes are upheld on each project. Additionally, you will assist the Field Operation Manager in evaluating temporary employees for company status.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct electrical work in logical steps, ensuring deadlines are met and coordination with other trades complies with the overall project schedule and contract documents.
• Training and Development: Assist Field Operation Managers with the review process for both Adams employees and associates.
• Scheduling Oversight:
  • Create and maintain project schedules, including crew organization and manpower projections.
  • Develop field organization charts for projects in collaboration with Project Managers and Field Operation Managers.
  • Update schedules and manpower projections weekly.
  • Set and track measurable production goals for individuals and crews.
• Material Management / Jobsite Logistics:
  • Create and maintain material management and logistics plans for projects, including determining material needs, ordering, receiving, and organizing materials.
  • Develop and implement materials management and jobsite logistics plans prior to project start, adjusting as needed throughout the project.
• Safety:
  • Create and maintain safety plans for projects, including daily reports, PPE management, and accident management.
  • Develop project-specific safety plans with Onsite Safety Managers.
  • Ensure adherence to project-specific safety plans and Adams Electric company standards.
• Quality Control:
  • Create and maintain QA/QC plans for projects, including specification and code compliance, punch list management, and documentation.
  • Develop project-specific QA/QC plans with Onsite QA/QC Managers.
  • Ensure adherence to project-specific QA/QC plans and Adams Electric company standards.
• BIM / Design:
  • Lead layout efforts for BIM prior to the project, with assistance from foremen.
  • Review drawings throughout the process to ensure quality control.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Field Operation Managers, and BIM Manager on BIM schedule development to ensure timely delivery and review of drawings.
• Pre-Fabrication:
  • Create and maintain pre-fabrication plans for projects, including determining appropriate assemblies, ensuring specifications are met, and managing delivery and installation schedules.
  • Develop pre-fabrication plan schedules with Project Managers, Field Operation Managers, Prefab Foremen, and BIM Manager to ensure timely delivery and review of drawings.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent and/or General Superintendent.
• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (hard hat, vest, protective eyewear, safety boots).
• Work is performed indoors and outdoors, often exposed to natural elements such as cold, heat, moisture, and wind.
• Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements and background screening process.
