General Sonographer FT Evenings

Full-time, evening shift position with occasional weekends and 2 holidays per year. Shift hours: Days 5-8s. Sign-on incentives starting at $10,000 and relocation assistance may be available based on location.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality ultrasound procedures using proper positioning skills and technical factors for patients from infants to geriatrics
• Conduct clinical assessments and diagnostic sonography examinations
• Educate patients about exams and obtain consent when necessary
• Practice safety in accordance with established standards
• Utilize critical thinking for daily and emergent assessment of protocols
• Assess patient preparation and scanning protocols for each ordered exam
• Follow established Ultrasound Department protocols
• Observe safety precautions while handling patients and during examinations
• Operate 2D, M-mode, and Doppler ultrasound units with appropriate transducers to record images and perform accurate measurements

Requirements

• Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as one of the following:
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
  • Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS)
• If not registered, must be board-eligible and become registered with ARDMS within one year of hire
• Maintain active registry status with ARDMS (30 CMEs every 3 years/annual payment)
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training required within six months of hire and every three years thereafter
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire and every two years thereafter
