General Service Automotive Technician

Responsibilities

• Test drives every vehicle before service or repair to verify customer complaints and recommend drivability and other vehicle concerns
• Inspects vehicle engine and/or mechanical/electrical components to diagnose and record findings for necessary repairs
• Recommends thorough repairs that ensure the vehicle can last 3 years/36,000 miles
• Performs basic care and maintenance, such as tune-ups and flushes
• Performs oil changes, tire services, and state inspections when needed
• Conducts repairs according to established company procedures
• Replaces necessary parts and components with high-quality parts for repairs capable of delivering a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty
• Confirms repairs and services through a thorough test drive on a predetermined route

Requirements

• Must meet or exceed industry standards in automotive repair
• High school diploma or GED preferred, with some or limited training in automotive repair
• Valid driver's license required, with NC Safety Inspection and enhanced emissions licenses preferred
• Entry-level knowledge of computer equipment and applicable software applications
• Ability to manage priorities, adapt to diverse customer needs, and perform tasks with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
