GENERAL PROFESSIONAL III - TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT - DOWNTOWN, OAHU
This vacancy is with the Department of Health. Salary range: $5,107 to $6,221 per month (SR-20, Step D to I). Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, applicant qualifications, and other relevant factors.
Employees appointed to temporary positions may gain membership in the civil service upon satisfactory completion of an initial probation period of at least six months, making them eligible for promotion, transfer opportunities, and other rights and benefits afforded to permanent employees (except return and placement rights associated with a reduction-in-force).
About the Role
Positions in the General Professional series perform and/or supervise a variety of professional work activities in support of an agency's program. This may include providing direct services to the public, conducting studies, performing research and analyses, planning and evaluating programs, developing policies, and performing professional administrative support activities.
The General Professional III independently performs moderately complex professional work involving research and analysis to identify problems and recommend solutions in accordance with established policies, procedures, standards, and methods.
Responsibilities
- Perform research and analysis to identify problems and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Gather, evaluate, and analyze facts and other pertinent information to resolve problems or determine and recommend courses of action.
- Demonstrate the ability to elicit information orally and in writing.
- Read, comprehend, interpret, and evaluate technical subjects, analyses, or proposals.
- Apply problem-solving methods and techniques, such as defining problems, identifying alternative courses of action, and using judgment to determine appropriate solutions.
- Prepare clear and concise written reports and recommendations for action.
Requirements
- Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
- One (1) year of responsible professional work experience demonstrating analytical skills, including:
- Gathering, evaluating, and analyzing facts and information to resolve problems.
- Reading, comprehending, interpreting, and evaluating technical subjects or proposals.
- Applying problem-solving methods and preparing clear written reports and recommendations.
