Responsibilities
- Gather necessary materials, use appropriate hand tools, and operate applicable machinery and equipment in various plants to support the assembly floor and finished product while achieving production goals, quotas, and objectives.
- Assist in assembly operations as directed by management to achieve JELD-WEN’s goals and objectives.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to appropriate plant personnel, including Group Leaders, Group Managers, or quality control personnel.
- Label finished products to match appropriate paperwork.
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, following prescribed safety regulations per plant policies and OSHA guidelines, including the use of safety glasses, ear plugs, masks, pants, close-toed shoes, and other safety equipment.
- Report unsafe conditions to appropriate supervision.
- Perform repetitive assembly functions using hand or power tools and applicable machinery to assist in assembling the JELD-WEN product line.
- Retrieve raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products for proper assembly; check the quality of materials and ensure correct type, amount, and dimensions.
- Place materials and parts in specified relationships to each other.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Ability to multiply, divide, add, and subtract.
- Ability to read and comprehend basic verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work in an environment exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and loud noises.
- Adherence to all safety protocols, including OSHA guidelines, is mandatory.
- Ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to occasionally and/or frequently lift and/or move materials weighing between 10 and 75 pounds.
- Motivation to learn and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and responsible attitude.
- Results-driven mindset.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
