About the role
This position directs and trains supervisors in all facets, including production paperwork, yields, time and attendance, discipline, motivation, turnover, absenteeism, safety, and problem solving. Accountable for performance metrics such as safety, quality, workers compensation, turnover, bid movement, and Team Member morale.
Responsibilities
- Check daily production orders to ensure fulfillment of customer orders.
- Ensure every position is filled before start-up of production line.
- Oversee Team Member morning exercises and job rotation to facilitate ergonomics.
- Ensure all machinery is performing to the highest standard possible.
- Ensure all workstations have passed USDA Inspection.
- Promote safety daily and through monthly safety meetings.
- Ensure accurate shipments, rotation of inventory, and proper coding of products.
- Communicate company benefits and compensation policies to Team Members.
- Provide encouragement to Team Members to build the best team possible.
- Perform human relations functions such as training, retaining, and counseling on personal and professional problems.
- Oversee various processing operations and work with other supervisors to solve problems.
- Keep records of reworked or returned product.
- Provide continuous education on the importance of quality.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or poultry industry; prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Two years of employment at Tyson or equivalent experience preferred.
- Familiarity with processing floor operations; HACCP certification or understanding of basic HACCP principles and CCP monitoring verification is a plus.
- Knowledge of fresh meats processing is a plus.
- High school diploma required; education beyond high school, including special training, vocational school, or college courses, is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to access all areas of the production floor, including fixed ladders, stairs, and steps, to conduct audits and inspections.
- Able to tolerate environmental conditions in the area of responsibility; temperatures range from 28–45 degrees.
Skills
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong communication skills; able to communicate with all levels of management.
- Team leadership, problem-solving, and motivation to take on special projects.
- Supervisory experience, including managing production schedules, product rotation, CCP verification, and safety committees.
