General Production Associate
About the role
Work as part of a team performing routine tasks to support assembly and production of storm door products. Follow established standard work and instructions under general supervision. The assembler may rotate across various workstations (lay up, screw shooter, insert builder, window glazer, kitting, screen roller, hinge assembler, assembly line operator, door pusher). May also serve as a training role.
Responsibilities
- Support and follow all rules/guidelines/standards for Safety, Quality, and AMS functions.
- Perform assembly or sub-assembly operations: assembling, packing, labeling, scanning, matching, sequencing, installing, kitting, bagging, glazing, staking, punch pressing.
- Work from drawings/specifications; use gauges/templates; retrieve parts; ensure quality and dimensional accuracy; complete documentation.
- Operate simple hand/power tools; make routine adjustments; handle materials (lineal, poly, screen cloth, cardboard, wood, glass, vinyl, aluminum, metal).
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and speak simple sentences.
- Familiarity with American units of measure (lbs., inches, etc.).
- Ability to perform all assembler jobs and rotate as needed.
- Ability to use/read tape measure.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Understand verbal/written instructions and standard work.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic tools knowledge preferred.
- Continuous improvement knowledge preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending, twisting, gripping, pushing, pulling.
- Repetitive wrist/arm/hand motions.
- Standing/walking 8–10 hours on cement floor.
Pay
Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn $19.00-$22.33 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, and certifications.
