Primary Summary
The General Operator I is to operate the production machines and properly measure the products to achieve all company targets and standards.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Operates secondary production machines under supervision and after JSA trained
- Comprehends and follows SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), work instructions, and/or special requirements if applicable
- Detects work piece defects or machine malfunctions during machine operation
- Reads blueprint or Manufacturing Order (MO) for product specification
- Inspects product using calipers, micrometer, scales, templates, or other measuring instruments
- Records information such as in-process inspection, number of products tested, meter readings, and dates and times of work piece production
- Recognizes cosmetic non-conformances based on Company specifications and initiates action to prevent non-conformance
- Operates Shop Floor System and records MO information
- Performs minor machine maintenance such as changing worn accessories, oiling and cleaning machines, and adding coolant to machine reservoirs
- Reports all malfunctioning equipment and non-conformance issues to department Lead or immediate Supervisors
- Performs record keeping, data entry, house keeping, and follows safety regulations
- Complies with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures
- Follows all 5S department procedures which include but are not limited to keeping floors clean of oil and debris, returning tools to proper locations, organizing part pans, and performing other housekeeping duties
- Attends all training provided and adheres to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforms to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times
- Buys any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately
- Continually seeks opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results
- Works under recommended waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the manufacturing production function such as recycling opportunities to eliminate or minimize production waste
- Performs a variety of other related duties as assigned

Essential Job Requirements
- Education And/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 0 – 2 years experience and/or training of manufacturing environment procedures; or knowledge of manufacturing environment preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints or other job specifications preferred.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should know basic computer systems.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to Team Members of the organization.
- Mental Abilities: Ability to add and subtract six digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to comprehend detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for extended periods of time, speak or listen, and walk.
- The employee is frequently required to use eye-hand coordination, repetitive hand movement and manual dexterity use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- The employee must frequently bend, reach to shoulder level and lift, carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 30 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Hearing level within normal/average range.

- The responsibilities of the position include compliance with company and governmental safety, environmental and hazardous materials regulations and procedures.
- Team Members will be required to wear personal safety equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, or proper footwear PPE in specified areas.

- Be familiar with the site's HSE policy and objectives
- To be able to make proposals for improving working conditions and limiting environmental impact
Compensation
$20.00 - $23.90 Per Hour
