About the role
This is a general posting for a Field Technical Advisor. This role is part of a team that is responsible for ensuring construction of a quality product that will perform to N/E standards and expectations and for promoting customer relationships that will enhance N/E position as "Our Customers Preferred Choice."
Responsibilities
- Add value to N/E's product by supporting its customers and contractors with onsite technical support during construction.
- Supports the unloading, storage, and installation of N/E equipment.
- Inspects the assembly, alignment, and clearances of equipment supplied by N/E.
- Maintains back charges within budget.
- Addresses construction issues/problems.
- Interprets mechanical and structural drawings for contractors.
- Reports job progress including field problems using N/E field service report form.
- Manages contractors in onsite repairs and modifications.
Requirements
- At least three (3) years of experience as an onsite Lead or Supervisor in the construction or energy fields; experience as a superintendent preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of industrial construction in the power industry, welding and NDE.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills, ability to work with office engineers, field erection craftspeople, construction management and customers. Proficiency in English.
- Ability to read, write, problem solve, make quick decisions, interpret data and analyze results; effective written and verbal communication is essential.
- 100% travel by plane or approved vehicle with unpredictable and limited notice, extensive walking, climbing stair towers and ladders, entering confined spaces, and working in all weather conditions.
