General Obstetrics & Gynecology - Laborist (M68237)

About the role

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at VCU Health is seeking a laborist to provide specialty care in General Obstetrics and Gynecology. This position is designed to provide care primarily in General Obstetrics on the Labor and Delivery Unit. Candidates should practice the full scope of obstetric services.

Responsibilities

• Teaching
  • Participate in department’s educational activities, particularly in educating students and residents in their core educational objectives while on the labor and delivery unit.
  • Initiate and participate in clinical research projects.
• Research
  • Contribute to scholarly publications/presentations.
• Service
  • Serve on departmental, health system, and university committees as necessary.
  • Facilitate other department research.
• Clinical
  • Full participation in inpatient obstetrics clinical activities.
  • Include inpatient care, surgery, and participation in nighttime shift duties.
• Other
  • Participate in department and institutional administrative activities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited OB/GYN residency.
  • Eligible for Virginia medical license.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
• Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated talent and experience in teaching and commitment to research, and patient care.
  • BC/BE by the American Board of OB/GYN.
