Job Duties
- Performs general inspections, troubleshooting and repairs of minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing items within the hospital or clinic setting.
- Examples of works may include but not limited to: unclogging plumbing lines, replacing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tile, repair leaking faucets, and painting touch-up.
- Follows up on completed assignments ensuring equipment is working appropriately.
- Responds to and repairs specialty systems, such as, and not limited to, the nurse call system, fire alarm system, television system, medical gas system, and the ceiling system.
- Completes preventive maintenance inspections in accordance to scheduled checkpoints and maintains documentation appropriately.
- Affords assistance with any maintenance on associated equipment within assigned area(s).
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Affords assistance with repairs and upkeep of facilities structures and building systems.
- In the event of severe weather emergencies or disaster, personnel will be assigned a work area and remain onsite throughout the duration of the severe weather or disaster.

- Assists other Hospital and Clinic departments with daily maintenance and support services as needed.

Physical and Environmental Demands
- Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue, but exposure or potential for exposure may occur.
- The incumbent works with patients who have known or suspected communicable diseases and may enter isolation rooms.
- The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.
