About the role
The General Manager (“GM”) is responsible for implementing quality concepts throughout operational processes to drive continuous improvements, supervising warehouse/vault operations and delivery service, ensuring proper staffing to meet customer demands, and maintaining equipment and facilities for optimal performance.
Responsibilities
- Personnel Management: Interview, screen, and hire job candidates; train, evaluate, supervise, and reward personnel. Enforce security, fire safety, attendance, and other personnel policies. Ensure proper staffing during vacations, holidays, and absences. Communicate operational updates via meetings and written communications.
- Quality Tracking and Improvement: Participate in the Company’s quality program, including development and training. Monitor, track, and set goals for critical operational areas (e.g., on-time deliveries, driver productivity, warehouse/vault productivity, paperwork accuracy, driver response time). Use vehicle GPS to monitor driver efficiency, fuel usage, and route performance.
- Facilities/Equipment Maintenance: Manage vehicle maintenance, cleanliness, and preventative scheduling. Oversee warehouse/vault appearance, security, and repairs. Maintain scanners, rack space, and related equipment. Control fuel card usage and check-in/check-out procedures.
- Inventory Control: Ensure accuracy and timeliness of warehouse/vault operations. Audit daily paperwork, reconcile inventories, and conduct bay audits and consolidations as prescribed. Verify warehouse maps and audit accuracy.
- Customer Service: Provide courteous and professional customer interactions. Handle special requests, resolve problems (e.g., disaster recovery drills, large customer issues), and update/distribute delivery schedules.
- Compliance: Ensure all compliance requirements related to operational functions are met.
Requirements
- Eighteen (18) years of age.
- Valid driver’s license with clean MVR and clean background check.
- College degree.
- Supervisory experience (3-5 years desired) with demonstrated ability to manage and motivate others.
- P&L experience preferred.
- Strong financial acumen.
- Experience in a B2B service industry work environment.
- Problem-solving skills for people and process challenges.
- Detail-oriented work style to identify discrepancies.
- Organizational skills to meet critical deadlines and schedule resources.
- Willingness to take responsibility for daily operations after hours or unscheduled workdays.
- Able to perform physical work when necessary.
- Commitment to leadership in disaster recovery environments and servicing internal/external customers.
