About the role
The Dunes Club is a full-service private beach and racquet club located in Narragansett, Rhode Island. Founded in 1928, it serves approximately 800 members and has a strong waiting list of about 200 prospective members. The Club operates seasonally from Memorial Day weekend through October 31, employing over 240 seasonal staff members.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage annual operating and capital budgets with the Treasurer/Controller
- Oversee capital building projects, from planning through construction
- Modernize operational and member-facing technology
- Plan and execute a full private events calendar
- Manage food and beverage operations
- Recruit, train, and develop staff
- Liaise with the Board, committees, membership, and staff
Requirements
- Strong financial acumen
- Experience overseeing large-scale capital building projects
- Technological fluency in modernizing club systems
- Private club leadership experience
- Experience managing waterfront operations
- Outgoing, enthusiastic, and diplomatic management style
- Ability to recruit and retain high-quality staff in a seasonal environment
Qualifications
- Four-year college degree in hospitality management (desirable)
- Track record of stability and progressive achievement in hospitality organizations
- Experience managing private events
