General Manager - Store - Jiffy Mart

About the role

The General Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the store, directs staff, maximizes profits, and ensures high levels of customer service and store appearance.

Responsibilities

• Maximize store profitability through managing expenses, optimizing revenue streams, and leading a high-performing team.
• Ensure guest and associate satisfaction, meeting brand standards and store profitability.
• Select, develop, and lead a team to create a positive shopping experience.
• Respond to guest complaints, solicit feedback, and manage staffing to cover business demands.
• Oversee training, allocate resources, and manage labor hours to ensure operational efficiency.
• Manage safety programs, analyze opportunities, and execute improvement actions.
• Report incidents, ensure compliance with laws and policies, and lead change initiatives.
• Maintain store profitability by monitoring financial reports, managing inventory, and controlling costs.
• Conduct competition surveys, analyze results, and address issues with community partners.

Requirements

• Available to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
• Leadership experience in a fast-paced retail, food service, or fuel environment.
• Experience selecting, training, and managing staff.
• Experience with labor allocation, sales building, scheduling, and expense management.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks such as standing, walking, handling, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
