About the Role
As a Site General Manager, you will oversee a designated travel center, leading a team to operate a successful and profitable location. You will build and maintain a strong leadership team, communicate a clear vision, and drive training, development, profitability, site maintenance, and safety. Your role ensures we return every traveler to the road better than they came.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the management team and overall operations of the designated location.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and inspire the same in all team members.
- Establish and meet company objectives for people, profit, safety, service quality, and site appearance.
- Coach and teach customer service principles, including direct customer interaction to resolve issues.
- Partner with Profit Center Managers and Talent Acquisition to identify and develop management talent.
- Review and advise on team staffing levels; develop management team and successors.
- Monitor key performance indicators, identify improvement opportunities, and communicate them to the District Manager.
- Ensure safety programs are implemented and maintained for customers and team members.
- Assess performance of Profit Center Managers, complete appraisals, and recommend advancements or merit increases.
- Address customer complaints promptly and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Solicit employee and customer input to improve location operations.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations impacting operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of reports, personnel records, time sheets, and other documentation.
- Supervise a travel center operating 24/7, including multiple profit centers.
- Lead the management team to maintain and safeguard company property, equipment, and merchandise, ensuring loss prevention policies are executed.
- Manage location operations while controlling expenses within established budgets.
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour obligations, accurate time records, and proper compensation for non-exempt employees.
- Develop and implement programs to recognize and reward outstanding customer service.
- Work with the District Manager to create succession plans and provide career development opportunities.
- Responsible for accurate forecasting of site results and achieving budgeted EBITDA.
- Complete lead certification requirements for managed restaurant brands.
- Ensure all required training is completed within 90 days, including compliance, company policies, and job skills.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (or GED) required; Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of leadership experience with proven positive results.
- Proficient planning and analytical skills (e.g., understanding P&L, coverage ratio, budget, and expense reports) to achieve positive financial results.
- Ability to perform all non-management functions to assist when needed.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and operational understanding of POS software.
- Valid driver’s license with appropriate insurance coverage and acceptable driving record.

Pay
Pay Range: $77,000.00 - $82,000.00 annually. The pay will depend on various factors, such as responsibilities, job duties, and relevant experience and skills.
Schedule
The travel center operates 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Occasional standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and/or move heavy objects.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Exposure to outdoor elements in all seasons, fumes, particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
- Occasional exposure to dirt, dust, grime, grease, oil, gas, and high-concentrated cleaning solutions.
- Noise level in the work environment can be loud at times.
