About the role

The Inspection Center General Manager at Carvana is responsible for overseeing the performance of the center, leading up to 500 associates in a lean manufacturing environment. The role involves strategic planning, production management, people management, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Leadership: Leads strategic planning, provides vision and guidance, ensures alignment with Carvana culture, visits the shop floor, engages the team, and challenges for continuous improvement.

• Production Management: Ensures adequate capacity, leads weekly performance reviews, identifies and prioritizes issues, ensures compliance with standards, and maintains safety and loss prevention guidelines.

• People Management: Participates in hiring and training processes, mentors leaders, provides feedback, and models teamwork.

• Continuous Improvement: Selects and leads continuous improvement events, trains and mentors managers, and participates in problem-solving efforts.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing environments.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

• Proven ability to develop and lead associates.

• Ability to work flexible schedules and in a fast-paced, changing environment.

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

• Strong analysis and decision-making abilities.

• Proficient in computers.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no more than two moving violations or DUI’s in the last three years.

• Must be able to work in various weather conditions and use personal protective equipment.

• May be required to work overtime and weekends.
