General Manager - Quality Assurance
About the role
The Quality Assurance, General Manager provides the leadership of the Quality Assurance function across the company.
Responsibilities
- Appraises both internal and external customer requirements and ensures their satisfaction.
- Cascades the Group and Division strategy in terms of Quality Management.
- Establishes and ensures that Department’s goals are in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Ensures appropriate communication to engage the concerned stakeholders.
- Assures the compliance of production by checking processes and final output.
- Interfaces with supplier and customer representatives concerning quality issues and assures implementation of effective corrective action.
- Facilitates corrective and preventive solutions implementation.
- Ensures supplier selection & qualification in cooperation with purchasing.
- Monitors suppliers quality performances and implements appropriate corrective action plan.
- Participates in suppliers audits.
- Ensures appropriate communication and/or escalation in critical quality issues concerning supplier matters and/or product quality and/or the quality system.
- Promotes a safe work environment by ensuring the group and self-follow established safety procedures.
- Participates in internal and external quality audits as well as third party and customer audits.
- Leads the local ISO9001 certification process within the multi-site certification.
- Maintains relevant records of quality reports and statistical reviews, by: collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including customers complain, failed processes, corrective actions, audits results.
- Ensures reporting at local and Division level.
- Forecasts operating cost of department and prepares budget.
- Ensures clarity around priorities and goals for the Quality Assurance area.
- Works with Senior and Executive Management for strategy development and execution planning.
- Communicates financial and goal results and key performance indicators to direct and indirect reports.
- Directly supervises 3-6 staff employees and overall responsibility of 18-30 employees.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in a related discipline and five years related experience and knowledge of assembly of an engineered product (preferably mobile equipment); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven experience as a quality manager or relevant department manager position in a similar environment.
Ability to travel nationally and internationally up to 20% to customer and supplier sites.
Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and passport.
Ability to complete and maintain mine certifications or safety training such as Mine safety and Health Administration (MSHA) hazard training.

Pay
Pay Range: $180k - 205k
