About the Role
The General Manager oversees the full operation of the hotel and all outlets, including hotel operations, food and beverage, sales, engineering, human resources, and accounting. The role involves meeting all company standards and leading the 5 Key Drivers identified by the management company.
Responsibilities
- Practice a culture of guest service in all interactions; promote courtesy, good will, and a positive attitude.
- Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests to maintain positive relations.
- Resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction in every interaction.
- Coordinate special programs, functions, and incentives to improve guest service.
- Work cooperatively and professionally with fellow associates.
- Lead the Executive Committee to achieve property goals.
- Develop and ensure achievement of hotel revenues and profits using forecasting, P&L management, and RevPAR.
- Ensure property compliance across all departments while growing business year over year.
- Maintain product quality to support future bookings, banquet sales, and food & beverage revenue growth.
- Coach and develop leaders to exceed performance expectations.
- Adhere to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Demonstrate a high work ethic, self-initiative, and professionalism in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Participate in and lead departmental and hotel team meetings.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management or a related business field (preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Rooms and/or Food & Beverage functions.
- Strong verbal and written business communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to lead teams at all levels.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Some travel may be required.
- Regular attendance according to established guidelines.
- Proven record of professionalism in high-pressure, 24/7 operational environments.
- Professional image as perceived by subordinates, peers, superiors, guests, and the community.
- Basic computational ability.
- Ability to focus, complete tasks on time, and handle frequent interruptions.
- Maintain excellent relationships with staff while preserving confidentiality.
- Remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emotionally charged situations.
- Ability to converse effectively with upset associates, superiors, and guests.
