About the role
This position is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of aggregate operations to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits. Establishes and maintains strong relationships with current customers, identifies potential customers, and creates lasting customer relations to continually grow the market for aggregate products.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years in aggregate or heavy industrial operations with increasing responsibility.
- Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.
Prior to Employment
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Mining, or a related field.
- MSHA Certification.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives.
Duties and/or Responsibilities
- Directs and coordinates aggregate operations to ensure efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize profits.
- Plans and develops organizational policies and goals and implements them through administrative personnel.
- Covers activities across product lines or departments and oversees promotion of products or services to develop new markets, increase market share, and strengthen competitive position.
- Prepares directives outlining policy, program, or operational changes.
- Analyzes budget requests to identify cost-saving opportunities and allocates operating budgets.
- Confers with administrative personnel and reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine necessary program or operational changes.
- Establishes work plans and staffing needs and arranges recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
- Confers with project staff to outline work plans and assign duties, responsibilities, and authority.
- Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel.
- Reviews status reports and prepares project reports.
- Provides technical guidance to project personnel and resolves operational problems.
- Mets with customers to understand and address their needs.
- Builds relationships with new customers and maintains strong relationships with existing customers.
- Demonstrates strong product knowledge through value-added sales, trade show participation, customer support, and resolving product quality issues.
- Identifies appropriate product solutions for customer needs.
- Prepares project quotes and bids.
- Communicates effectively (verbally, in writing, and through active listening) and works productively under high-stress situations.
- Demonstrates self-motivation, teamwork, strong interpersonal skills, and maintains positive customer relations.
- Troubleshoots and resolves operational issues (material quality, equipment operation/repair) and monitors production problems with coworkers and supervisors.
- Ensures compliance with DOT, MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, and all safety and environmental regulations.
- Works safely at all times and takes proactive action to prevent unsafe behaviors, processes, or conditions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong planning, organizing, and coordinating skills.
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge or ability to learn HCSS software.
- Able to work independently and under time constraints.
- Analytical skills for evaluating reports, data, and operation performance.
