Job Responsibilities
- Plans, develops and implements and ensures compliance with organization policies and goals
- Provides counsel and direction to the activities of sales, service, parts, body shop, F&I, and administration to affect operational efficiency and economy
- Directs and coordinates promotion of services performed to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry
- Analyzes department budgets to identify areas in which profit opportunities can be maximized or cost can be minimized and operating budget can be achieved
- Confers with administrative and managerial personnel and reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required
- Through communication, oversight and direction works to ensure employee satisfaction, customer satisfaction and return on investment
- Promotes the recruitment and development of dealership managers and non-management employees
- Examines pay practices and develops pay plan models to achieve budgetary goals
- Liaison with the manufacturer; works with factory representative to achieve factory objectives
- Provide strategic planning and the execution thereof to meet long term dealership goals
- Ensure all HR topics are monitored and appropriately managed along with the necessary documentation
- Recruiting and developing future leaders
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University; and 8+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 6+ years of dealership experience at a department manager level, or similar related work; knowledge of the principles, concepts and methodologies of department operations to ensure the profitability of the dealership
