General Manager - KBFS

Position Description

S3, Inc. is seeking a General Manager (GM) for KBFS to work at our home office in Huntsville, AL. The KBFS GM is accountable for strategic level leadership, management, and strategic vision necessary to ensure that the subsidiary has the proper operational controls, administrative staff, reporting procedures, and personnel in place to effectively execute the missions, grow the organization, and generate a profit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering, 15 years aviation management experience in rotary and fixed wing commercial operations for pilot training, maintenance of the aircraft, airfield operations/refueling, and P/L.
• Extensive knowledge of military and commercial flight, maintenance, and fixed base operations.
• Commercial aviation leadership experience and a working knowledge of commercial aviation maintenance procedures.
• A thorough knowledge of FAA rules and regulations.
• Experience in federal contract management, FAR/DFARS, profit and loss, aviation insurance, and aviation safety and quality requirements.
• 40% travel to our field sites in Geneva, AL, Crestview, FL, and Temple, TX.
• An active DOW (formerly DoD) Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and directs all business development and marketing functions, coordinating and cooperating with other technical departments.
• Develops operating budgets and business plans to support company objectives and executive approved plans.
• Responsible for the employment, training, motivation, and discipline of assigned employees.
• Serves as primary source for program, marketing, financial, and department information.
• Regularly interfaces with customer representatives to maintain open communications and to develop and expand business opportunities through management of both waterfall and pipeline opportunities.
• Ensures that the subsidiary maintains total responsiveness to customer requirements.
