About the role

A General Manager must be committed to inspiring our team, helping our Customers succeed and growing our business with integrity. This is a professional level sales and management position capable of supporting functions on both sides of the business. The role requires understanding of store systems, automotive systems, parts knowledge and has the ability to identify, troubleshoot and project assist for DIY.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include achieving overall store sales goals and service objectives, managing and growing Professional Customer relationships/sales, and selection, hiring, development, performance management, coaching, scheduling and engagement of store Team Members. The General Manager is also responsible for ensuring execution of all inventory and operational standards, coaching Team Members to deliver on Customer expectations, and managing on-duty responsibilities.

Secondary responsibilities include providing DIY service, assisting the District/Region in other functions upon request, and leading change management.

Requirements

The General Manager must have a working knowledge of automotive systems, be able to speak and write English, and have effective communication skills. They must also be able to calculate figures and amounts, review and analyze business reports, and hold others accountable.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience managing a team of 10-20 Team Members in a fast-paced and highly dynamic retail environment, with successful experience managing profitability and proven financial and business acumen.

Education

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required, with a Bachelor’s degree in business or a related area preferred.

Pay

The good faith estimate for this role is between $57,400.00 USD and $70,300.00 USD salary for a new team member, depending on factors such as geographic location, experience in retail, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and other skillsets ideal for this position.

Schedule

The position requires a minimum of 50-55 hours per week (excluding meal break periods), with an average schedule of 5-6 days a week, 11 hour shifts, including rotating nights and weekends, with an hour for lunch. Additional hours may be required based on staffing, store conditions, sales to target, and other business demands.
