About the role

Yardstick is a boutique, suites‑only dog hotel focused on personalized care, elevated service, and a calmer experience for dogs and their humans. The company seeks an experienced General Manager to lead a new Franklin, TN location, drive growth, build strong teams, and uphold Yardstick’s exceptional hospitality standards. Responsibilities

• Lead the opening and day‑to‑day management of the new Franklin location.
• Hire, train, and develop a team of approximately 12 full‑ and part‑time employees.
• Create a strong team culture centered around hospitality, accountability, and care.
• Own scheduling, labor management, and daily operations.
• Deliver exceptional customer and guest experiences.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and well‑run facility.
• Oversee inventory, supply ordering, and facility upkeep.
• Build relationships within the Franklin community through outreach and local partnerships.
• Work closely with leadership on operational improvements and company growth initiatives.

Requirements

• 5+ years of leadership or people‑management experience.
• Strong operational and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service abilities.
• High integrity, reliability, and accountability.
• Comfortable in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment.
• Excited by growth and motivated by ownership and responsibility.
• Pet‑industry experience is a plus, but not required.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed (the facility is open 365 days a year).

Compensation & Benefits

• Target compensation of approximately $65,000 annually, including performance‑based bonus incentives.
