General Manager

About the role

The Dispensary General Manager is the key leadership position overseeing all elements of the dispensary operations, ensuring successful day-to-day operations and delivering an exceptional experience for both guests and employees.

Reports directly to the Director of Retail and works in conjunction with the Manager of Operations. Supervises Assistant GM, shift leads, captains, inventory staff, and RSAs.

Responsibilities

• Follow Redi’s policies and procedures for daily operations and fully comply with state marijuana regulations.
• Train, guide, and coach the dispensary teams to ensure operational compliance.
• Scrutinize daily operations to identify inefficiencies and improvements.
• Work with all levels of the team to identify and cultivate future talent within the dispensary.
• Lead the dispensary team to achieve company-set goals through motivation and employee buy-in.
• Manage the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process.
• Create staff schedules.
• Coach, counsel, and apply disciplinary action when necessary.
• Oversee the performance management of the dispensary team.
• Analyze product sales patterns and customer trends.
• Ensure adequate staffing to support business needs and deliver a best-in-class retail experience.
• Maintain an active presence on the sales floor, partnering with the team and customers to understand areas of success and opportunity.
• Ensure timely responses to customer requests for product, training, and general information.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Proven ability to lead a large and complex team.
• Significant experience in retail business, management, and/or human resources.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, follow-up, follow-through, and multitasking skills.
• Very organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to be flexible with varying work hours based on business needs.
• Passionate about the importance of cannabis.

Physical Requirements

• Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
• Frequently sitting and standing.
• Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts.
• Lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 30 pounds.
• Work in an environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
