Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead and oversee key business operations, sales initiatives, warehouse functions, and team performance within our organization. The ideal candidate will bring strategic vision, operational excellence, and strong leadership capabilities to drive growth and ensure outstanding execution.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and guidance to ensure business goals align with the company’s vision and objectives.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient processes, high productivity, and achievement of revenue targets.
- Manage and mentor the sales team, setting clear goals, providing training and support, and driving performance.
- Oversee warehouse operations, ensuring accurate order picking, packing, and shipment preparation.
- Ensure safe and effective use of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, RF scanners, and pallet jacks.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to acquire new customers and expand existing client relationships, meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
- Monitor and analyze sales data, warehouse performance metrics, customer satisfaction metrics, and operational performance to identify areas for improvement and drive strategic adjustments.
- Foster strong relationships with key clients and partners to maintain trust and ensure long-term partnerships.
- Lead team meetings and contribute to a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and relevant regulations, maintaining high standards of professionalism.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a General Manager or in a similar senior leadership role in a distribution center environment, preferably in the automotive aftermarket or a related industry.
- Strong background in sales management, with a history of meeting or exceeding performance targets.
- Experience in overseeing warehouse operations and knowledge of inventory management practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
- Solid understanding of business functions such as sales, operations, finance, and strategic planning.
- Working knowledge of a P&L with financial performance responsibility – including accountability of a DCs revenue, expenses, and net profitability to meet overall financial expectations.
- Ability to collaborate with other GMs, senior leadership, product development, and sourcing teams.
- Ensure safe and effective use of vehicle fleet, warehouse equipment, including forklifts, RF scanners, and pallet jacks.
- Expectation of occasional travel.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, develop insights, and implement actionable strategies for business growth.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
- SAP experience highly preferred.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and maintain resilience in a fast-paced environment.
- A valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to follow all state and local driving rules and regulations.
- Physical ability to oversee warehouse operations, including lifting and moving packages weighing 30-70 lbs as needed.
Starting Annual Salary Range
$200,000 - $250,000 USD
