General Manager

About the role

The General Manager will oversee the New Grand Gardner Hotel, a luxury property in downtown Valparaiso, Indiana, providing leadership and management across various departments including operations, food and beverage, spa, retail, and meeting spaces.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive oversight of hotel operations, amenity spaces, and sales activities
• Development and implementation of sales initiatives, guest experience enhancements, restaurant programs, and special events
• Budget development and financial management
• Daily tasks including financial reporting, weekly performance updates, and strict adherence to accounting controls
• Professional development of team members through training and cross-training programs
• Asset management strategies such as CAPEX planning, maintenance schedules, and preventative maintenance programs
• Managing all employees
• Oversight of all sales activities, social media presence, travel site reviews, and the property’s website

Requirements

• Three years’ experience in full-service hotel operations
• Leadership experience in hospitality
• Strong background in food and beverage management
• Prioritizing and managing multiple tasks at once
• Excellent analytical abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven leadership, management, and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to work a variety of schedules based on business needs
