About the role
The General Manager drives the overall operational and financial performance of the warehouse. This role establishes and executes strategic direction, providing leadership across warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and customer satisfaction. The General Manager integrates efficient process design with innovative solutions and performance measures to deliver continuous improvement and operational excellence, ensuring alignment with business objectives and exceeding customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for all warehouse operations, including receiving, picking, storage, shipping, and inventory management processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop, implement, and monitor KPIs, such as labor efficiency, inventory accuracy, and inbound/outbound performance, while ensuring robust reporting mechanisms and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Cultivate a high-performance work culture by hiring, training, supervising, and developing warehouse staff; establish clear roles, expectations, and performance standards for the team.
- Partner with Engineering and other stakeholders to design and maintain optimized warehouse layouts, product-placement strategies, and operational flow, achieving optimal efficiency and space utilization.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing operational pain points, documenting opportunities, and implementing solutions to elevate productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction metrics.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive leadership experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or logistics environment.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing budgets and P&L.
- Demonstrated expertise in warehouse systems, processes, and technology platforms, including ERP, WMS, or TMS systems.
- Proven track record of operational optimization and cost management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications in Lean Management, Six Sigma, or relevant supply chain certifications (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) to underscore a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Experience working in regulated environments with knowledge of compliance standards such as TAPA, AIB, OSHA, or equivalent industry standards.
