ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Aid in managing daily plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics.
- Attend production meetings to discuss today’s production schedules.
- Collaborate with Shop Supervisors to ensure all team members meet production goals.
- Lead the shop, motivating employees and keeping them engaged.
- Support setup processes to enhance production efficiency as needed.
- Plan production needs in advance, including materials, manpower, etc.
- Coach employees on improving or addressing issues promptly.
- Document employee productivity or personnel issues and submit reports to HR.
- Create and manage plant capital expenditure budgets and oversee projects.
- Create and maintain production schedules in collaboration with Sales and Production.
- Affirm that all parts are in place at the right time for production.
- Ensure that quantities and quality meet company standards while utilizing quality systems.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to shop personnel and assign tasks accordingly.
- Oversee and direct Maintenance team members to ensure efficient operation of the shop.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess strong interpersonal and motivational skills, capable of leading and inspiring others.
- At least 10 years of previous manufacturing experience, with welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Experience managing a facility with a gross revenue of $100 million or more is highly desirable.
- A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
- Proficient in computer skills, including proficiency in Office Suite and Six Sigma (or similar) methodologies.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Human Resource Information System (HRIS), and Quality Assurance (QA) systems is advantageous.
