General Manager
The Original Pancake House, owned by BTE Management Co, is looking for an upbeat, driven, professional, and team-oriented leader to join our management team. We are a growing company seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our Maple Valley, WA team. BTE Management Co owns and operates franchises of the Original Pancake House, founded in 2009 by its original owners. Our mission is to ‘connect with people and brighten their day.’ BTE currently operates 13 OPH franchises across the country, with teams supporting each other.
About the role
We are a breakfast-only restaurant operating 363 days a year, closed on Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day. Hours are Monday through Friday 7am - 2pm, and Saturday & Sunday 7am - 3pm. No evenings!
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional customer service.
- Cultivate a positive and nurturing work environment.
- Proactively develop and manage all staff members, both front and back of house.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Manager and Lead Line Cook to hire, train, develop, coach, and discipline staff.
- Lead by example to uphold company standards and expectations.
- Complete all required administrative work in a timely manner while remaining available for guests and employees during business hours.
- Manage time effectively, including working outside normal operating hours when necessary.
- Maintain professional presentation (business casual attire, no jeans).
- Ensure attendance and promptness, including working a 5-day schedule and additional time for planning, staff meetings, and training.
- Be on-site at all times during operating hours when employees are present.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in the service industry, preferably in a full-service restaurant.
- Detailed knowledge of front and back of house management.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in ordering, inventory management, scheduling, employee development, staff training, and guest service.
- Ability to foster a positive, upbeat workplace culture while upholding company policies.
- Availability to work weekends (required for all management team members).
Qualifications
College degree is not necessary but preferred.
Pay
Base annual salary of $80,168, with an opportunity to earn weekly bonuses based on business growth and performance.
Schedule
General Managers work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with some weeks requiring additional hours based on business needs. Salaried managers are expected to work their assigned 5-day schedule and any additional time for planning and operations.
