General Manager

About the role

The SSA Group is seeking a General Manager to lead operations at the North Carolina Zoo. Applications must be submitted within 7 days of posting.

Responsibilities

• Coach, supervise, and direct all department managers to meet operational needs.
• Schedule personnel as necessary and assist in developing training standards.
• Host and conduct training sessions as needed.
• Track, maintain, and budget inventory and Cost of Goods (COG).
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Manage payroll and controllable profit within established guidelines.
• Perform SSA Extra Guest Service to ensure a memorable experience for every guest and client.
• Manage all applicable departments based on unit location and contract.
• Support SSA/Unit in driving community effort through engagement activities and focus on opportunities of giving back.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven leadership skills with an understanding of team building/development.
• Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated financial management, merchandising, analytical, and planning skills.
• Flexible in a fast-paced environment.
• Computer knowledge and skill level for basic office functions.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and move boxes (35 lbs).

Job Requirements

• Five years operations management experience.
• Two years management experience in cultural, iconic, amusement, or museum attraction.
• ServSafe Certified preferred.
• Must be 18 or older.
