General Manager
Overview
As a General Manager, you are the leader of your business and the driving force behind your team's success. You will create an environment where Team Members feel supported, guests feel welcomed, and operational excellence thrives.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, and retain a high-performing team that delivers an exceptional guest experience and supports Smoothie King's mission to inspire people to live a healthy and active lifestyle.
- Lead by example, creating a positive, engaging, and accountable work environment that promotes teamwork, respect, and continuous growth.
- Coach and develop Team Members through on feedback, recognition, and performance management to maximize individual and team success.
- Deliver an outstanding guest experience by ensuring every guest interaction reflects Smoothie King's values and commitment to excellence.
- Drive store performance by achieving sales, profitability, labor, and operational goals.
- Analyze key business metrics, including sales trends, labor performance, food costs, and guest feedback, and implement action plans to drive results.
- Utilize operational tools and reporting, including profit and loss statements, scheduling systems, inventory management tools, and daily business reports to effectively manage the business.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, health, and operational standards, maintaining a safe environment for guests and Team Members.
- Manage inventory and vendor relationships to ensure product quality, product availability, and effective cost control.
- Maintain accurate cash handling, deposits, and financial controls in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Champion and uphold Smoothie King brand standards, ensuring consistent execution across all aspects of store operations.
- Ensure store appearance, cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and overall facility standards consistently meet or exceed company expectations.
- Execute company initiatives, promotions, and operational programs while inspiring the team to embrace and support organizational goals.
- Develop and implement local store marketing and community engagement efforts to increase brand awareness, drive traffic, and strengthen community relationships.
- Recognize and celebrate individual and team achievements using company programs and creative recognition strategies that foster engagement and retention.
- Collaborate effectively with Operations, Training, Marketing, People Services, and other cross-functional partners to support store success and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a growth mindset by embracing new initiatives, adapting to changing business needs, and supporting additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience managing a team in a restaurant, retail, hospitality, or other customer-focused environment.
- Experience managing day-to-day operations, including staffing, scheduling, inventory, and financial controls.
- Experience driving operational performance and achieving business results.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications and POS systems.
- ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment, workplace safety, and food safety regulations preferred.
