Responsibilities
- Operations Management
- Class Scheduling – manage staffing levels and class mix to meet business demand
- Risk Management and Compliance – ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, safety standards, health codes, and employment law
- Facilities – maintain cleanliness, interior/exterior, pool, and pump room to brand standards
- Safety – promote a safety culture and execute quality‑assurance and brand standards
- Financial Acumen & Reporting – use financial data to drive revenue and profitability strategies
- Labor Management – maximize labor utilization and class mix
- Budget Management – monitor expenses while balancing brand standards and financial outcomes
- Cost Control – implement cost‑saving measures without compromising service quality
- Employee Management
- Hiring & Staffing – recruit, interview, onboard, and plan succession
- Training & Development – provide initial and ongoing education for staff
- Retention‑Focused – cultivate an inclusive culture with team building, recognition, and growth opportunities
- Culture of Performance – coach, give feedback, and support continuous improvement
- Customer Experience
- Customer Satisfaction – deliver world‑class service and monitor Net Promoter Score (NPS)
- Customer Retention – execute processes that drive engagement and retention
- Customer Follow‑Up – handle requests and feedback promptly
- Customer Reviews – solicit and manage reviews on Google, Yelp, and local landing pages
- Marketing & Community Engagement
- Local Marketing – develop and implement strategies to promote programs and grow community involvement
- Social Media Management – create and manage posts to encourage interaction and enrollment
- Competitive Awareness – conduct analysis, pricing research, and monitor new openings
- Community Relations – build relationships with local businesses for visibility and cross‑promotion
- Hosted Location Management (Non‑Dedicated Facilities)
- Relationships – collaborate with hosted partners to ensure smooth operations
- Compliance – execute master agreements with hosted partners
Requirements
- 2–5 years of management experience leading large teams (30+ employees)
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in recreation, sports management, business administration, or related field preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment, be agile, and take initiative
- Strong critical‑thinking skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving
- Physical ability to lift 30 lb and remain on feet for long periods
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire (training provided)
- Lifeguard and Certified Pool Operator certifications preferred
- Aquatics management or swim‑instruction experience is a plus
- Full‑time position; reports to the Director of Operations; on‑site work location
Pay
Based on experience, location, and volume impacts.
Schedule
Weekdays, weeknights, and weekends required; 40+ hours per week (typically 40 hours, with seasonal variation).
