Job Purpose
The Warehouse General Manager is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the operations and financial performance of a warehouse. The person in this position should drive results through team leadership, process improvement and customer relationship management.
About the Role
This position reports to the Director of Warehouse Ops. The person in this role manages teams, optimizes operational efficiency, ensures safety and compliance, and fosters a positive work environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Daily:
- Provides clear direction and energetic leadership that fosters engagement, accountability and performance at every level.
- Handles daily operational issues and facilitates communication with all cross-functional departments.
- Weekly:
- Maintains equipment maintenance.
- Attends all strategic leadership meetings on a weekly basis.
- Monthly:
- KPI Tracking.
- Maintains and documents facility updates.
- Generates warehouse reporting.
- Quarterly:
- Performs performance reviews, sets team goals and projects forecasting in a timely manner.
- Participates in P&L review.
Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate, read, write, and speak English.
- Must have 5 or more years of Warehouse Management experience.
- Must have strong business writing and case analysis skills.
- Must have advance math and financial skills.
- Experience in Inventory Control, Transportation Warehouse.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Access, Visio and Power Point), data entry and general computer abilities.
- Experience in warehouse safety and safety training.
- College degree preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
- Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
- Regularly work in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
- Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
- Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
- Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
- Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
- Must hear speech out of both ears in the normal range of 30db at 500 to 2000 Hz range.
- Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
- Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.
