General Manager

About the role

Penn Station firmly believes that the General Manager must have an ownership mentality. This position provides a base salary plus a monthly share of profits with no cap. The General Manager is responsible for day‑to‑day operations and overall performance of the restaurant, including hiring, training, supervising, and working alongside team members to ensure adherence to company policies, organizing weekly labor schedules, and controlling costs. Additional duties include making store deposits, opening and closing the store, and maintaining store cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Manage employees and store operations, including hiring, firing, labor law compliance, and scheduling.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Health Department Guidelines and operate the restaurant within those parameters.
• Submit required paperwork and monthly reports for the restaurant and its employees.
• Maintain stock by placing weekly inventory orders.
• Deliver deposits to the bank on behalf of the restaurant.
• Provide professional customer service and address all customer complaints.
• Supervise crew members, crew leaders, and Assistant Managers.
• Effectively open and close the store.
• Understand and adhere to all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs.
• Create and maintain schedules for the team.

Requirements

• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organization skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Working knowledge of back‑office computer systems.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Physical Demands

• Exert up to 40 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Stand and maintain well‑paced mobility, including bending and stooping, for the duration of the workday.
• Work and perform all duties at any station in the kitchen or service area.

Pay

Base salary plus a monthly share of profits with no cap.
