General Manager

About the role

Naniq Global Logistics is seeking a full-time General Manager to oversee our Amazon Gateway operation on the island of Kona. This role reports to the Regional General Manager and supervises the entire operation, including ground support handling of 767 cargo aircraft, piece-level sortation of packages, and line-haul delivery of sorted packages to Direct Delivery Unit (DDU) Post Offices. The operation runs 7 days per week, typically on a late evening to early morning schedule, with occasional weekend work required. The General Manager must be capable of stepping into other management positions as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall operation of plane loading and unloading, package sortation, and trucking operations, ensuring compliance with all client metrics, standards, and reporting requirements.
• Work with our unionized subcontractor to ensure the sortation operation is sufficiently staffed.
• Supervise all operations to ensure compliance with TSA, DOT, local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and customer security requirements.
• Ensure customer-required reports are prepared and issued on time.
• Report on safety, security, and theft incidents.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service.
• Print manifests and review flight trackers.
• Send operational statistics to leadership.
• Ensure accurate timesheets are provided for the crew and correct any ADP timesheet errors.
• Ensure leadership sends out scheduled breaks via group chat.
• Review expectations with leadership and administrators.
• Monitor the positions board and ensure all equipment is in working condition.
• Ensure administrators start and complete their tasks throughout the shift.
• Review Amazon trips via the Relay app.
• Send out FedEx communications and manifests.
• Review Contrails reports and Chime chatrooms.
• Ensure supplies are available for the crew throughout the warehouse.
• Review all ramp crew emails and inbound/outbound logistics.
• Review applicants if hiring.
• Develop a plan for the end of shift and communicate with floor leaders.
• Monitor VISTA for controllable errors.
• Prepare a speech/statement for debriefing.

Requirements

• Customer service-oriented with a friendly, professional disposition and strong leadership skills to manage people in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Experience with commercial driving and sortation processes is desired.
• Excellent organization, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Self-motivated, able to multi-task, and work effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Must pass drug screening and background checks, including employer, customer, and/or SIDA background checks.
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements

• Routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing less than fifty pounds.
• Moving items over fifty pounds will be done using team lift.
• Must meet physical lifting requirements of 50 lbs.

Pay

$80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

Schedule
